PRINCE DJAY

From Sydney, Australia. Est.2015 on the South Coast of Sri Lanka
Open-format DJ (Key Genres/BPMs: UKG, DNB, Funk/Soul, 90’s, 120 BPMs)
Formerly known as : Larry T Hill

In the peak 90s Ratmalana Burgher party bubble, 8-year-old Dylan had a problem. He would try to play some tunes tag-teaming with his cool older cousin DJ ICE, but each time he dropped a track on the improvised Hi-Fi setup - he would do the least cool thing a DJ can do - grin uncontrollably.

“That's my tune!” was written all over his face.

But it was these extended family holiday visits from Australia that shaped not only a 21-year career in events management, but a lifelong Burgher training in over-the-top experience curation. Obsessing over the details until things are - not perfect - but transformative.

During an 8-year stint as a full-time touring artist, he unexpectedly added DJing to his toolkit, initially collaborating with his beach-club audiences on musical menus during 5-hour sets. The newly available DJ software could pull in tracks directly from Spotify. This allowed him to take a timely request from a traveller's home country, cue it up in headphones and then mix in a track he's never heard before.

His first testing ground in 2016 was the Hangtime Rooftop in Weligama, where he started the open mic night and the yacht parties with Sail Lanka where he was the resident DJ.

As part of the diaspora and one of the first open-format DJs in the south, his work struck a chord. He was the first Resident DJ of Dots Bay House which included a legendary three-year NYE run tag-teaming sets alongside The Soul.

In 2017, he created the 6-day, 7-show “Quick and Dirty tour” alongside three local artists and three artists from India - all with three weeks' notice. His work has opened doors to the Colombo-Southern creative highway and subsequent international touring circuit. In 2019 he extended this with a 15-show victory lap tour of Sri Lanka to launch his debut Larry T Hill EP, Diasperado.

His twin loves of cycling and music led him to co-found the Pedal Party Magan’djin (Brisbane, Australia) Soundsystem in 2022. Here, he was once again the resident DJ as the only DJ who could play a set whilst riding a bicycle. As an Audio Systems Engineer, he is currently in the lab slowly building up the Pedal Party Soundsystem’s Sri Lankan chapter.

In 2025, he returned and played the Kacha Kacha 10th Anniversary, a crowdfunded, non-ticketed event he co-founded. His set brought the south coast beach energy, with a touch of a Sydney Warehouse Party, to transform a gritty working class Colombo bar into a pulsing workout zone.

Equally comfortable on the mic and the decks, he finds just the right moments to bring warmth and hype to the dancefloor. Through touring his live looping hip-hop comedy show as Larry T Hill, he finally embraced that boyhood smile and hyper energy.

To this day, he is one of the youngest 41-year olds you'll ever meet, and one of happiest DJs you will ever see. From Jaffna to Trinco, Kalpitiya to Hiri, Colombo to A-Bay, his tunes have taken him islandwide.

Wait, but what does he actually play? Whether it’s a Lankan 90’s portal, slamming 120 BPMs, pulsing UKG or Junglist d’n’b - these infectiously fun sets will make sure that you too, will be dancing, whilst grinning your face off.
